Many of you know that my career in retail, mainly the turnaround ventures I faced with my husband, inspired The Chase is Over, and my mysterious medical issue (holes in my right tibia) prompted Passion’s Race, but do you wonder what fueled the idea for Mystical Connections?
I’ve always believed that things happen for a reason and the people we meet are not random. Universal Energy (God, if you will) brings many of us together for a purpose, whether to teach us something, to allow us to teach, or simply to experience an event that can change our lives. In other words, enrich us in some way.
Haven’t you ever met someone and known instantly that you would be lifetime friends? I have more times than I can count. Some of my best friends are people I met on an airplane, in an elevator, sitting in a workshop that interested me. It’s as if we are drawn together by a common field of energy, a likeness, a need. I don’t know about you, but I’ve grown as a person with each connection I’ve made. There always seems to be something I can learn from this person. Some clarity to an issue I may have been mulling in my mind.
The concept has always fascinated me and I’ve opened myself to the possibilities – that’s what made me ask, “What if a young successful romance author met a jaded ‘I’m all about the facts’ journalist? What purpose could there be in their meeting?”
Jenna Nichols and Aidan Scott came together under not so wonderful circumstances, but the journey they embarked upon made writing the book an adventure I’ll treasure for years to come.
All I can hope for is that one day their story is available for you to read, so you, too, can enjoy the hilarious and sometimes emotional road they travel together.

In the corporate world, every company writes a Mission Statement, a governing plan that guides all thought and action. Throughout my career, I was fortunate to be included in the process. I sat at the boardroom table with top executives to define how we would reach our customers and what we would come to mean to them. Today we think of that as Branding.

Sunset in GuamTwo of my favorite CEO’s drove us to think large, push the boundaries of ordinary, and do something spectacular or brilliant. So when I chose to pursue a new career, their voices accompanied me. I decided to leave the corporate world to become a published author. I approached this new venture as I would big business, therefore I needed a Mission.
My mission was born:
I want to become published to spread a message about embracing change. I want to touch people’s lives. I want to create emotionally and intellectually satisfying stories with the help of a nationally known publishing house. I want to give back to the world some of the wonderful blessings I’ve received but in the form of fiction.
My stories are about the relationships that surround each one of us and the altering effects they have on our lives. Even in the face of adversity, there is a light at the end of each tunnel. I believe we most often follow our hearts not our brains when searching for that light.
As I set my goals and developed a plan to reach them, my theme was born. The heart of change is the change of heart. It perfectly described what came together as I wrote. My greatest hope is to one day share this work with you through the bookshelves across the country and beyond.
