Welcome to my cyber world. Thank you for visiting. Please, pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable as your browse through my space. I’m currently in St. Louis, sitting in my favorite room in the house, my office. Half a block from Forest Park with large French doors that look out at the world, I watch each day unfold.
Technically, it’s the master suite, but when we moved in, my husband didn’t hesitate to deem it my creative space. It’s a light and airy room decorated with dark woods and touches of red, my favorite color. Sting plays in the background as my cats snooze on the leather chair in the corner and I write for hours at a time.
I need only to look up from the keyboard to get a dose of our beautiful world. With life on warp-speed, I write my stories as the seasons flash before my eyes. Like a rotation of Nature’s glory, the colorful explosion of spring, the oppressive shimmer of summer, the fiery burst of autumn, and the crisp cleanliness of winter unveil themselves.
Dogs parade by. Some prance with huge grins on their faces, their tails wagging in anticipation as they drag their owners to the park to play. You can almost hear them say, "Oh boy, this is going to be fun. Let's go, let's go." Birds sing, the sun blankets the lawn, while my friend the squirrel sits on the balcony rail watching me with that curious what-are-you-doing stare. Once in a while, Taco, the talkative one of my two cats, will hop up on the desk and start a conversation with Mr. Squirrel through the glass. They chirp and chatter and wiggle their noses at one another, making me laugh out loud.
Because it is such a peaceful and perfect place, my imagination runs wild and I sometimes have to remind myself to join that outside world and breathe the fresh air. I’ll go for a run or take a bike ride in the park, come home for a refreshing shower, and then I’m back at my desk – writing! I can’t think of a better way to spend my time.
I love what I do and I do what I love. What could be more exciting than that? While I get back to work, take your time exploring, and please come back as often as you like, there’s plenty of room for my friends.
